<p>You wake up. Your eyelids slowly open to be greeted by darkness and the faint light of the moon flooding in from the slats of the blinds. Your head is pounding, as you turn to look at your side table, only to find that it's missing. Not just the table, but everything. You clock, your phone, even your pillow. You sit up slowly and hear a low buzzing. //Strange...this isn't my room. Where am I?// you think to yourself. You take a deep breath and try to calm your growing fears.</p>
<p></p>
<p>You swing your legs over the side of the bed and plant your bare feet on the cold linoleum floor, sending chills up your spine and goosebumps running across your skin.</p>
<p></p>
Do you [[look outside the window]] or [[investigate the room]]?
<p>You clench and relax your toes to put some feeling back in them. It feels like you've been laying down for a while.
//Maybe this'll help me get a sense of where I am...// you think, as your take slow, measured steps toward the window. You slowly wrap your fingers around the wiry string by the window and pull down, as the blinds fold upwards one by one. The moonlight floods in, illuminating the dark, foreign space. The walls look old and yellow, almost like they're decaying. You push the window open and a cool breeze drifts inside, chasing away the stale air. You take a breath as your eyes widen in confusion.</p>
<p>Trees. All there are is trees. Hundreds of them. //Where the hell am I?// Panic starts to settle in your head, as your thoughts begin racing.</p>
Do you [[call out for help]] or [[investigate the room]]?
<p>"HELP!!" you scream out into the wilderness, "IS ANYBODY OUT THERE??" Your voice echoes out into the forest. No answer. You grip the windowsill as you try to steady yourself. //This is insane...what the hell is this place?// you think frantically.</p>
<p>Suddenly, the sound of faint footsteps are heard coming down an outer hallway. Your muscles tense as every hair stands on edge. You whip around and press the small your back against the edge of the window. //Shit...what do I do?// Your eyes dart around the room as you think of what to do next.
<p>Do you [[get back in bed]], [[hide underneath the bed]], or [[confront the footsteps->open the door]]?
<p>//Maybe this is just some weird dream...// you think, as you shake your head. You walk back towards the bed and crawl in, burying your head beneath the covers and squeezing your eyes shut. Your breathing slows, and you feel your heart calming down, but the sounds in the room betray you. Your breath sound doubled, almost like someone else is in the room...in bed with you.</p>
<p></p>
<p>You clench the covers tighter in your fists as you will yourself to wake up from whatever this weird nightmare seems to be. //Please wake up...please wake up...please wake up...//
<p></p>
//[[It's just a dream]]// ... //[[Isn't it?]]//
You glance around the room quickly, and then decide to hide and see who it could be. You make a break for the bed and quickly slide underneath it. You place your hand over your mouth as you try to slow your breathing. The footsteps stop in front of the room. You hear the doorknob click and the door creak open.
A woman walks in wearing a long white overcoat and glasses, a clipboard in hand. Beside her is a large, muscular man wearing dull green scrubs. The woman looks around the room and sighs. "You can't hide every time we come back. You need to take your medication," she clucks, as she begins to scribble something down on her clipboard. [['"Take him."']]
You take a deep breath as you look around the room. //There has to be something here that can give me some answers,// you think, as you take slow steps towards the wall. The faint buzzing grows louder as your walk closer and closer to the wooden door at the other end of the room.
Do you [[open the door]] or [[get back in bed]]?
<p>Your alarm goes off like a siren as you let out a yelp and fall out of bed and onto the floor. You hit your head against your side table on the way down. '"Ouch, shit..."' you mutter. You reach up to slam the snooze button on your alarm clock, as your eyes adjust to the bright sunlight.</p>
<p>"Well, well. If it ain't Sleeping Beauty. It's about damn time you woke up. You're gonna make us late." Your roommate says, as he opens the bedroom door and saunters in. "You already missed breakfast, and I ain't making you any more."
<p>"What are we late for?" you ask, as you rub the spot where you hit your head.</p>
<p>"I dunno, but probably something. Either way, get your ass out of bed," he replies quickly, as he walks back out.</p>
//Huh...so it was a dream.//
<p></p>
THE END.
You hold your breath and the second pair of breathing quickens. You feel icy fingers crawling up your back as long, slender nails clasp around your neck.
"Ohh...so nice of you to join me..." a woman's voice whispers, eery and low. Her grip tightens around your neck as you feel her nails slowly, painfully begin to break skin.
"Wh-who the f-fuck are you..." you manage to choke out. You try to reach for her hands but you can't seem to pull them off. You can hear her lips curl up and around her teeth as she pulls you closer to her. She laughs menacingly.
"I am your worst nightmare," she says, as her nails close tighter and tighter.
...
...
//Crack.//
THE END.
Your eyes widen at her words. //What the fuck?? There's NO way I'm crazy!! I don't belong he--// your thoughts are cut off as you feel two strong hands clasp around your ankles and drag you from underneath the bed.
"LET ME GO, YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!" you scream at the top of your lungs, scraping your nails against the floor.
"Every time.." the man mutters, as he flips you around and pins you to the ground. '"Just hold still."'
"NO. GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF ME," you yell, as your start kicking your feet. You spit in his face as he tries to restrain you. He growls, and then lands a punch square in your jaw.
Your vision begins to go blurry and dark, but you can see the woman making her way towards you. She removes her glasses and smiles, her teeth glinting in the moonlight. //Those seem sharper than normal...// The last thing you can remember is the pinch of a needle, and the pain of something breaking.
THE END.
You take slow, measured steps toward the wooden door. As you near it, you can see that it looks old and dingy, almost rotten. The buzzing gets louder. You open the door and step outside. You are greeted by a long hallway, with three other doors. Your hands are trembling.
Do you [[check the left door]], [[check the right door]], [[go straight]], or [[get back in bed]]?
You walk forwards a bit and approach the first door on your left. You hear a muffled screaming from the other side. It sends shivers up your spine. You clasp the doorknob and try to open it, but the door is locked. //Phew...// you release a sigh. //I was hoping that one wouldn't be open.//
Do you [[check the right door]], [[go straight]], or [[get back in bed]]?
You turn and make your way to the door on the right. You hear mumbling and a faint conversation behind it. //Okay...time to get some answers...// you think, as you mentally prepare yourself for what maybe on the other side. You take a deep breath.
[[Turn the knob]].
//Screw it,// you think, as you turn to face the looming hallway. You can tell that the buzzing sound is coming from here. You walk down for a few minutes, and it seems like it goes on forever. //Where does this even go?// you think to yourself. Suddenly, the faint sound of footsteps comes up from behind you. Your eyes widen and you quicken your pace, not even thinking to turn around.
[[Keep walking]]. No, wait. Maybe I should [[start running->Keep walking]]
As you turn the doorknob and push the door open, you are greeted by gasps from about four people in white overcoats. They look at you, surprised. You take a deep breath.
"Where am I, and who are all of you?" you ask steadily, as you make your way into the room. As you walk further in, you hear the sound of th door slamming behind you. You gulp.
"We were wondering when you'd wake up..." a woman with glasses speaks, her voice eerily slow and sweet like honey. Her lips curl up into a gruesome smile, revealing grotesquely sharp and damaged teeth, almost too many to count. //Damn...that's fucking creepy...//
"That doesn't answer my question," you clench your fists as you feel someone closing in behind you, "Who the hell are you people?" Your eyes dart around the room and you begin to notice that everyone else has the same ugly mug that the first woman has. //This can't be good...//
"We're almost insulted you don't remember. But that's okay, we'll help you out," you hear someone mutter behind you, as you feel a searing pain in your neck and shoulders. Your vision goes dark and you start to wobble. You reach behind you to touch the sore spot, and it feels warm and wet. You look at your hand and it's covered in blood.
The last thing you see is them coming closer.
THE END.
You turn a single corner and finally reach the end of the hallway, or what seems like it. At the end, there is a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling with a beaded string hanging next to it, and a small figure standing underneath it. Their body sways slightly. //Oh, hell no...// you think to yourself. You've seen one too many horror movies to think this can be any good.
Do you [[turn around]] or [[approach the figure]]?
You whip around and start running the other way. As you round the corner, you bump into a woman in a long white overcoat. She clasps her hands around your arms and holds you in place.
"There you are. We've been looking for you everywhere," she says, as she grins slowly. Her teeth look terrifyingly deformed, but razor sharp to the touch. //Holy fuck...// you think, your breath caught in your throat.
"Let me go, I don't even know who you are!" you yell, as you try to squirm back and forth to release from her grip. She squeezes tighter.
"Oh, you don't? Well, that's alright. I'll make sure you remember this time," she taunts, as she pulls you back towards one of the other rooms. You flail enough to break free, but as you turn around, you slip on the linoleum floor. You try to crawl away, but the feeling of her cold hands wrapping around your ankles causes your heart to go into overtime. You dig your nails into the ground as she begins to drag you across the floor.
"Where do you think you're going? Don't get me worked up. I haven't had my lunch yet," she drawls, as she drags you into a dark room, full of others with the same ugly smile.
She slams the door shut.
THE END.
//Like I have any better ideas. I better not die...// you think, as you slowly make your way towards the figure.
"Excuse me...do you know where I am? What is this place?" you ask tentatively. The figure turns around. It's a little girl. She looks at you absent-mindedly, and smiles. //Oh god.//
She reaches up for the light switch, and her smile turns into a grin. //Shit shit shit shit shit.// She waves her hand, pulls it down, and it goes pitch black.
